Pors Family

Just finished our final safari for the year !

Tage Pors and family from Denmark visited us for the first time. Tage and his son, Patrick, concentrated on hunting our coastal consessions while the girls spend some sunfull days on the beach.

After checking the rifles on Day 1, we decided to concentrate on Impala and Blesbuck. After a short stalk Tage had his blesbuck. After passing up several Impala and the light fading, it was Patrick's turn to get into the action. We spotted two lone males along the river having enough cover we stalked 120m. All we had was a frontal shot and Patrick was on the board.

Day 2 started early as we were anticipating a typical hot summers day. Tage once again made an excellent shot on a zebra. With the temperature hitting 30 degrees celsius, we decided to skin the zebra as quick as possible and head back to the beach to join the family. Louise and Sofie had great fun in the rock pools collecting shells and spotting little fish. By late afternoon with the temperature dropping we were back on the hunt, the game being more active and more visible, it wasnt long and another Impala was in the salt.

Day 3 produced two exceptional trophies, starting with a 32inch Waterbuck, we decided to take the afternoon off and focus on bushpig in the evening. The girls had a great trip to Kariega Game Reserve where they had the chance to view the Big 5 and other plains game. They got to see the new lion cubs and had close encounters with other game on the reserve as well. Their Ranger gave the girls a little knowledge test after the game drive, which they passed and received a Junior Ranger Certificate for their collection.

Day 4 produced 2 excellent bushbuck and a muscle cracker. The muscle cracker being an excellent eating fish caught along the Indian Ocean. Muscle Cracker on the weber and Tiger Prawns in the pan made an excellent last evening meal.

Day 5 the Pors Family were off on a trip along the Garden Route and finally ending their trip in Cape Town for New Years Eve. May they have a safe trip.

Merry Christmas to All and a Prosperous New Year !

After hunting east Africa and Europe, it was a great experience to hunt in the eastern cape with professional and well organized Adrian Purdon and his competent crew. The agreed game was found, selected and presented perfectly. Off-Range hours and accommodations were pleasant and relaxing just as you would expect in old Africa.
